New face of the US Military?

Description

*dances to the tone of Average White Band's Pick Up the Pieces for a few seconds*

Ladies and gents... for far too long, this country has had to place its brave men and women yada yada blah blah harm's way blah blah Iron Man yada yada whatever. *is bonk'd*

Today, I present to you... the new face of the United States military:

The Hammer Drone.

Army!

Primarily designed for ground combat, the Ground Assault Drone is armed with a 40mm grenade launcher on its right forearm, a machine gun on its left forearm, and a M242 Bushmaster 25mm autocannon on its back. It also has stabilizers on its feet that deploy when firing its back-mounted cannon.

The figure itself, since it's more closely based on concept art, has more pronounced arm-mounted weapons and a generic shell-firing cannon on its back instead.

Two of these are available only in the Fury of Combat 4-pack (so far).

Navy!

The Sea Assault Drone is a variant designed for ship-borne combat, being armed with missile pods (on its shoulders and forearms) designed to fire various missile types (anti-air, anti-surface, etc.)
Of note, these Navy drones are assigned to the VX-23 Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (nicknamed "Salty Dogs").

Also, the figure itself has 9-tube missile pods on each of its shoulders as opposed to the 6-tube pods in the movie itself.

Available only in the Armored Assault 3-pack as a "super value" "bonus" figure (so far).

Air Force!

Although the Hammer Drone in general is designed to fly just like the Iron Man armor, the Air Assault Drone itself is fully optimized for air combat, sporting a different, more aerodynamic design than the other variants, as well as additional back-mounted jet engines. Its weapons consist of missiles deployed from internal weapons bays (just like the F-22 Raptor) as well as back-mounted machine guns.

Again, since the figure itself is more closely based on concept art, its details differ somewhat from its on-screen counterpart.

Available as a single-carded release.

Marines!

Whereas the other aforementioned drones are designed for ranged combat, the Weapon Assault Drone is designed for close-quarters combat, sporting armored shields and retractable close-combat weapons on its forearms.

Aside from the fact that the figure itself doesn't sport tiger stripes like its on-screen counterpart, it also comes with interchangeable forearm weapons probably not seen on screen: a pair of chainsaws, and a pair of electro-whips (a possible indication of an upcoming "Whiplash Dynamo" figure, perhaps?).

Of note, this figure is also the only one in the Hammer Drone series that comes with both a shielded and unshielded head (interchangeable).

Available as a single-carded release.

Heheh, sorry for the Justin Hammer impression on this one. ;P

Interesting. Imagine of some other company got the blueprints and made the same modifications you made for these figures. They'd make a fortune selling these to various third world countries. Warlords whom wish to keep the country they control under their yoke.
